Title: Restoring the old Videopac forum
Post by: Rene_G7400 on September 02, 2007, 04:25:49 PM
I've made a list of links to Google's cache of the old Videopac forum:
http://home.hetnet.nl/~mdr.vd.enden/download/forum_cache.html (http://home.hetnet.nl/~mdr.vd.enden/download/forum_cache.html)
and a description how to read a topic in Google's cache.
If you find an interesting post, I'd advice you to save the text to your harddisc.

Thanks Rene  :)

Any idea how long google keeps these pages cached?

No, it would be better to save all interesting posts on your harddisc and put them online somewhere on this forum, but that might be a lot of work.

If I recall correctly, there's this script that dumps a phpBB forum to a database. I guess it can be adapted to work through Google Cache. It shouldn't be too complicated to create an script to do that from scratch anyways.

Not very long apparently, most of the links don't work anymore already.
