Title: Robot City Orders
Post by: ANDYRYALS on October 31, 2007, 08:21:36 PM
Hi,

I have decided to start taking orders for Robot City. There will be 75 copies. 25 will be a limited collectors edition which will have lots of bonus goodies the other 50 copies will be standard copies. The price is a little high due to the boxes that I have sourced for postage purposes but I think that when you recieve the game it should come in perfect condition with no "crush" injuries, scratches etc. I have also provided a plastic outer box which bumps up the price a little. OK, the costs are :-

Limited Edition Collectors version of which only 25 copies will exist 45 Euro's + 5 Euro's postage

Normal edition of which 50 copies exist 35 Euros plus 5 Euro's postage

PLEASE SEND NO MONEY NOW!!

If you would like a copy then please send me a private mail or just put a post in this thread. Please state which version you would like, and if you would like more than one copy. If you would like a particular cartridge number this can also be sorted.

Well I think Dieter needs to get "Tut" out of the way first and then I'll probably release in January so we will have a new present for the new year!

Will this be Videopac 67 ?

I think December or January would be fine. The first big run on Tut was a few days ago after the release to forum members. The second big run will be from tomorrow on when I put the info on my website and will send emails to all the previous buyers of Flash Point and Shark Hunter.

No this will be RetroGenesis #1

After some careful thought and comments from the community I decided to stick with a non Videopac number and stay with a release from my own label. I bet this ruffles a few feathers............

I'll prefer a number 65. Spiderman has now their "real" cover, and Route 66 is a homebrew..   :-X
But Andy releases, andy decides. ;)

Umm well, all the released prototypes so far did continue the Videopac series/numbers. So I thought it would be logical to go on with that. Homebrews can of course be released in their own style, but this is a prototype. But of course that is only my opinion, and your release ...

Yes that would be a good idea too.

But alas, we have the chaos perfect now. We have former prototypes released in the Videopac series, we have a homebrew released in the Videopac series, and soon a prototype out of the Videopac series - so we're past remedy and it doesn't matter anymore how the different releases will look like - the clutter is already here. It's a pity that we didn't have a "strict" guideline from the beginning - but probably it's only me who is so picky regarding the appearance of the prototype releases ;-)

Personally, I like to see old style manuals. I remember when I saw the Mr. Roboto manual, it?s makes me happy. It?s like to see the Spiderman released by Bas and the cover releasead by Dieter. I?m not telling the Bas version is bad, but the Dieter release are so familiar. But, just a personal opinion.

I'm wondering the same thing as well.  I'll be a little short on cash after the Holidays so I might opt for the regular version unless the Limited Edition has something really special... ???

Title: Re: Robot City Orders
Post by: ANDYRYALS on November 05, 2007, 05:53:42 PM
The limited edition will have :-

1. A copy of the all the various version of the artwork for Robocity
2. A Authors Blog of the development of the game
3. A History of the Robotocity prototype find and how it came into publication
4. Possibly a small "easter egg" puzzle in the manual
5. It will be labelled with the purchaser number
6. Hopefully an Autgographed postcard will be available from the Robotcity development team

I have one two other ideas so I'll probably put some more things in to make it good value for money.

The normal edition will just have a cartridge, a manual and a plastic outer protective case.

The limited edition will have :-

1. A copy of the all the various version of the artwork for Robocity

It will be great if one of this variations of the artwork has number 65 on it. ;)

As Dieter and Ren?, I really think that prototypes must have an "original" artwork (original, as in the 80s), and homebrews can have some different artwork, but with no number.
So if this "Robot City" has number 65, Dieter can release "Martian Threat" as number 66.  :-[

Post by: Seob on November 05, 2007, 11:06:04 PM
Depending on what type of cover it will be ther will be a number on front or not.
If you take the videopac+ style then there won't be a number on front. If you take the early videopac artwork then there will be a number on the front of the manual.

It would have been perfect, if videopac 65 wouldn't have existed yet. You may or may not like it, fact is that Videopac 65 and 66 do exist now. I don't like to have two different games with the same number.

I guess it would be a bit expensive to make two versions of the artwork for all releases from now on so everybody can choose his favorite version.

Can you remove me from the order list for this game please, I'm not really concentrating on videopac at this moment in time so I think it would be better if someone else could have the chance to buy the limited edition.
