Title: problems with o2rom.bin recalbox
Post by: pat71 on July 30, 2016, 09:32:06 PM
have anyone expierance wiht the recalbox and the odyssey emulation? It's hung, when the 'select game' is on the screen. I think, the newest o2rom.bin solved the problem. have anyone the newest o2rom.bin (June 2016)?

Did you ever get this to work? I just built a Raspberry PI 3 and am using RetroPie.  I had never heard of recalbox until reading your post.
I am curious as to how well you like it?

I have retropie installed, too. they are a litle bit different, but both are ok.
I have the same issue with retropie, I tried it with different controllers, but same Issue.

The o2rom.bin should be the standard Odyssey2 bios rom (as inside the 8048 CPU), are there different versions or is there a version especially for Retropie ??

I can select and aunch a game.  You can even rename the G7400.bin to o2rom.bin and run the games with Videopac Plus graphics.
My issues with RetroPie are I dont know how to remap games that do not respond to Joystick movement(SNES USB Controller) such as UFO
Maybe I just need to press "Space Button" to launch UFO like the manual says.. Perhaps that will make the difference.

In addition, I cant get the Revival Studio games to launch in Retro Pie.. Stuck on the main Splash screen "Press Fire to begin"

Launching UFO by selecting the Space button did not make any difference. I still can not get any movement or firing action in this game.
I remember there was an old cell phone emulation for the O2 before Smart phones became popular.  UFO required a left handed controller setup.
Does anyone know more about how to map this game in RetroPie?

have a look at: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/RetroArch-Configuration)

My guess is that only one joystick is actually configured and you need the second stick for some games.

Yea I have been using that as a guide .. I was able to remap Mame games like Robotron and Vanguard.  The curious thing is I can play Freedom Fighters, and that uses two joysticks in some of the modes. I currently only have one USB Snes controller for this..
