Hello. I just bought a odyssey^2 to add to my collection of vintage game consoles. This console has the joysticks hardwired to the console and has the star pattern. I started to play some games and noticed that the joysticks did not perform good at all. they didn't return to the center and stuck to what ever direction i was at. I looked everywhere to resolve this problem but no info. I took it upon my self due to being a auto technician(repairing mechanical and electrical break downs) I took apart my controllers and located the problem. Now they work so good and i didn't think i would say this but they are better than the atari 2600 joysticks.

If anyone is having the same problem I would be happy to assist you in the repair.

how to tell if u need the repair
1.) joystick sticks to one side
2.)looking at the star pattern and the top hat inside is contacting the star area adding friction.
3.)if you take apart the joystick and the two halves spring apart.

I hope i can help just respond to this post and have a great day!!!!!!
