Did you just do that, or was that there before? I can't see changing it that quickly...  Huh?

Just made it because Janzl needed it.  Smiley
Took about 15 minutes including testing......

The hacked version isn't really fun to play anymore.

From a coding point of view, you probably only have to modify the one line that takes one away from your score. It's finding that line in assembler that's the fun part...  Undecided

Right, I only had to change one byte!

actually even that is not that difficult ... you look at the memory (which in videopac terms is just 128 bytes extram + 32 bytes intram), see what changes after loosing a life (and is usually -1) and then look for an instruction thats accessing this byte in memory ... I actually was thinking once about including a debug command to allow scanning the memory automatically for changes like that providing a semi-automatic cheat-maker ;-)

It was a little bit less easy as that, as not the actual number of lives is stored in memory, but it is converted to how the VDC needs it. The calculation is being done on this converted number.

it was more how it works and not that special case ;-) sometimes programmers do funny things with their code to save memory and processor cycles ...

That is the most scary invigilator I?ve ever seen, I have no doubt that your score was achieved by obeying the rules to the letter!  Smiley
