I still don't get it though how spam-strategies like these can be effective

manually registering, even posting "somethings wrong" and then start spamming 1 week later ... that can't even closely be worth the effort in a forum with as few people as are here ... with MOST propably nobody buying anything of that stuff ...
btw: would it make sense to take this guys email-address and post it online and register it everywhere to make him get some spam? it must be a legit address, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to activate it ...
