The C7050 is sold out. It will be replaced by the new C7051, which will be available later this year.

I've made an EEprom version of Soeren Gusts Videopac RAMcart a few years ago. I've called it the C7050, or Non-Volatile Game Emulator. I've made 28 copies of it. I've made them mainly for Videopac and Odyssey2 programmers, so they can test their new games on real hardware. At the moment there are no other RAMcarts available for the Videopac and Odyssey2 computer.

The main advantage of an EEprom chip is that your program won't be lost when you switch off the power. An other advantage of this cart is that you can use it with the Voice module. I've added two switches, so you can store 4 programs. The cart is compatible with all PAL and NTSC Videopac and Odyssey2 consoles. Besides using it for testing your own home-brew games, it can also be used to play Videopac/Odyssey2 games that you've downloaded from the internet.

Just like the RAMcart you'll need a computer with a serial port or an USB-to-serial converter. Besides the complete cartridge with Videopac label, a manual, a special cable, an upload tool and an old plastic Videopac box are included. (see pictures) The price is 49.60 Euro (shipping not included).

Wow, THANKS!!  Shocked

Thanks for this release!!

I have no idea about programming (only a few Basic and C) but just testing the games that programmers give to the community in a real machine will be really great! I think I will enjoy a lot with this cartridge!

Great work Ren?!!

There might be a second edition of the C7050 if enough people are interested.
At the moment there are 8 names on the list.

I'm not sure yet if I will do it. I first thought I would, but then I ran into some problems:
- one of the switches that I've used is not available anymore. That means that I might have to adjust the PCB design
- on some Odyssey2 consoles with Voice module this cart sometimes doesn't work well. I have no idea why, because it works fine on an Odyssey2 without Voice, but also on a G7000 with Voice. I thought I had found a solution, but it still didn't work
- at the moment there are only 10 names on my list (actually 8, but 2 want two carts), so it will be a real challenge to keep the costs low enough to maintain the same price as the first run
- I'm still busy with the preparations of the G7400 testcartridges, and I also want to do a third run of the C7060 Game Selector.

This has made me decide to first finish the G7400 testcartridges, then do the third run of the C7060, and then start thinking again about the possibility to do a second run of the C7050.

For those of you who are waiting for the next edition of the C7050: I'm working on a totally new version of it that can hold more games.

How many games does the old version hold?

The old version only 4 games, the new version probably 63 games. (Currently 31, but I'm waiting for a new chip to arrive.)

Now that is good news. Guessing it won't have switches, but only Rene knows for now. This will be great for testing multiple games, and also multi-versions of a game (which I've done many times).
