Any interest in doing a game of the week or month?  What I am thinking of is picking a game randomly or by going in order and seeing who can get the highest score at the end of the week or month.  Since I have kids and a busy job going by the month wouldn't be a bad idea, I don't get a chance to play videogames every week.  Anyone interested?

Yep I'm up for that. I tried the idea of reviewing a game a week on .org but didn't get past week 1  Embarrassed

I'd be interested, but I think it should be more than just high scores and such.

Post a game - Random please - then allow folks to reply for that month with high scores, stories about the game, comments (like or dislike), and so on...

Oh, and monthly please - weekly is too little time for adults...

I agree make it random. I guess it should be one game where several are on a cartridge? I guess we should also post what settings we used, for example which controller in Freedom Fighters or which maze in Munchkin or which speed in spinout.

I like the idea of making it more than just high scores.  Memories, stories about the games, and other info would be nice.  I'll stay away from detailed game reviews, others have them available on their websites.

In the beginning we should also stick to games that were made for both Odyssey 2 and Videopac.  I know the emulater is readily available but some of us, and by us I mean me, have problems with emulaters working properly.

I agree that we will have to note levels, scores, time, and whatever else is important in a particular game.  Some games are two player only.  Should we play them anyway, provided we can find a partner, and share our thoughts about the game?  High Scores may not mean as much but I hate to rule those games out.  Besides, I need a good excuse to play the board games.

Give me some time to pick a game and further refine this idea.  I'll figure out a way to randomly pick a game and then maybe we could start at the beginning of November?  Please keep submitting your thoughts and ideas...

We can start about a new game. How many planets you landed in Planet Lander? How many times you "complete" KTAA or Amok. Very few is knowed about the new releases. Huh?

I would love to, but I need to own them first.  Tongue
Actually I have AMOK on my multicart but I don't think KTAA or Planet Lander is on it.  Can't remember right now.  I honestly think it would be a great idea to add homebrews, it would give me another good reason to buy the games and support the homebrew community.  I really respect what those guys and gals(?) do.

I could make another child board called 'Game of the month' under the games section. It will placed next to the Radiola rarity list. And if RickO2 likes it he can be the moderator.

Let me know what you thinks guys.

And to do this I have added a poll to this topic.

I don't know. I met Rick last June, as I'm not sure if he is the right type to be able to handle this. He spends way to much time playing games...

 Tongue

Well, maybe that was a buddy he was with!?  Huh?  Guess Rick would do okay here...  Grin

Smiley  You must be talking about my brother, I'm still trying to convert him to the Odyssey 2.  These young one's these days like their high tech graphics and games that take weeks or months to play.

Young hooligans! Five minutes and I'm spent, ask the wife... Seriously though, or was..., no but seriously I never had the time to spend hours and days and weeks getting into a game, by tomorrow I'm doing something else, so yeah me and my buddies were hooked on network Doom for months and months and months, but each day we could go home and start fresh the next day! Another reason I still like my old 'O2' (that's for you Ozyr).
