If it's possible to reserve a future copy of the C7060, I'd definitely be interested!

I have been meaning to get a multicart, and this one by far appears to be the best one.  Very nice work, Rene!

There won't be a next edition of the C7060. It will be replaced by the C7051.

I saw a thread on that, but I was a little confused as to what it was.

If it is a multicart, I'd definitely be interested in getting one!

The C7051 is a combination of the C7050 and the C7060. You will be able to put 63 games on it yourself. I will make it easier to use than the C7050.

Not sure if this was answered, didn't see it myself, but curious as to why 63 games? Just seems like an odd number.

Exactly!

(The flashrom chip is 512k, each game occupies 8k, 64 x 8k = 512k.)

Please pardon my confusion. So this upcoming multicart/game selector will have 63 games on it total? Or will it allow for someone to add 63 different games to it, in addition to having XXX existing number of games on it?

It will come to you empty and you can choose which games you put on it.The only thing that will be on the cart when you receive the cart will be the program that runs the cart.

Rene, I assume that we can put any .bin file on the cart as long as the program is 8k or under.?

So that will be the files the programmers post on this forum and what is in the zip file on your website?

What games will we not be able to put on the cart (i.e. over 8k)?

Interesting, so I assume it will come with the necessary items to put different games on it.

I've put the pictures and details in one place

From the C7050 thread. What the C7050 consisted of.

Besides the complete cartridge with Videopac label, a manual, a special cable, an upload tool and an old plastic Videopac box are included.

Is this going to have a similar input as the 7050 (headphone like jack and such)? Just curious.

No, I will use a different plug, like the ones used for power adapters.
(A small version of this one.)

Rene has also stated in the shoutbox that he will supply an usb to serial adapter to these who need it.

Start Menu of C7051

Yes, those are the .bin files that you need for this cart. When I start selling copies of this cart I will send the .bin files in an email to the buyers.

Games larger than 8k can not be used: KTAA, Videopac 59 and Videopac 60. For Videopac 58 only the version without Plus graphics can be used (prototype).
For Videopac 31, 40 and 55 only the modified versions can be used, but these look and play exactly the same as the originals (including the Plus graphics for Videopac 55).

Thanks for answering the other questions.  Smiley

Before you can transfer games to the C7051 cart you'll need this:
- the .bin files of the Videopac/Odyssey2 games. These will be send by email.
- a program on your computer to transfer the games. This will be send by email.
- a cable to connect your computer to the C7051 cart. This will be send together with the cart. (optionally with USB adapter)

This is how to send the games from your computer to the C7051 cart:
- put the C7051 cart in a Videopac/Odyssey2 console and connect the console to a TV
- connect the C7051 cart to your computer
- turn on the power
- with the help of the on-screen menu of the C7051 the transfer can be prepared
- with the program on your computer you can select a .bin file and start the transfer of the game to the C7051 cart

This sounds fantastic!  Really, it's the ultimate cart because new games can be added for the future. Thank you for the explanation on everything.

At work, we have many DB9 serial devices but no modern computers with COM ports, so we use the USB adapters with success in transferring data.
