I bought a little composite kit for my G7000 from eBay. It was simple to install but the video quality is still not acceptable - even for composite. I suspect it may be my console which is a bit defective (weak video signal and some light snow/grain).

I'm no electronics expert but I can solder and do basic mod installations - so I'm wondering if there are any RGB kits for available for either G7000 or G7400 which makes installation fairly easy?

Hello,

Yes I have this PCB for G7000 and Odyssey2.
The G7400 is pre-installed for RGB, you must add some electronic components on the original G7400 "mother board".

How much cost the composite kit you've bought?

You may also take a look at http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?topic=1717.0

I have no complete G7400 RGB kits available anymore and RS started to charge shipping costs for small shipments alas..
Biggest hurdle is to get the DIN PCB connector, the other parts are fairly standard.
Oh and you need to make a cable (DIN8 to SCART)  Roll Eyes

Update...

I bought a new board with built-in RGB from another forum user, installed it and the video quality is great now Smiley

But the picture often jumps back and forth sideways aprox. 10% of the screen which is obviously very annoying. I suspect the RBG SCART cable may be defective?  Anywhere I can buy new cable for it, or suggestions?

Thanks.

If you wiggle the cable at the connectors does the picture jump then too ?
Maybe the connectors (SCART and/or DIN) of the cable be disassembled ? If so you could check for loose connections.

It doesn't seem like a loose connection in the cable or plugs, will try to test it some more this weekend.
