Hello to everybody, iīm new in this site and recently get a Philips videopac G7400, her old owner said me that the console run good, but later when i plug on the tv the only what i watch is the image on the picture:

I dont know where is the problem, someone can help me?

Just to make sure: Have you put a cartridge in the cartridge slot?

Could you try a different cartridge, cleaning the contacts, wiggling the cartridge etc.
If this does not help then your CPU (8048) is probably not running.

Sometimes, when I have a problem with an Odyssey I let it "working" for few minutes and sundelly the beep sound is hearded and Select Game appears, maybe you can try with G7400.

Nothing change, only sometimes the screen turn blue but with the same graphics on the screen so, think that the problem is the cpu that doesnīt work?

It's easy to replace, but you can only use a cpu from another G7400.

No, the 8048 cpu contains a ROM, and that is programmed specifically for the G7400 (it isn't even compatible with the cpu of a G7000).
The only alternative would be a programmable version (8748), but not many people have the equipment to program it.

But before you try to replace it, are you sure that the cartridge connector of the G7400 is OK?

I clean de cartridge connector but only have one cartridge game and when i plug on tv without cartridge in i watch the same image on tv that with the cartridge in

I live in spain but the cpu of a G7000 doesnīt work in a G7400 if what said Rene_G7400 is true
