Two years ago Wizzy started his quest to find his father in Mage: The Enchanted Crystals.
Last year he got trapped between 2 worlds, but was able to find his way back.

Now his adventure ends here...

Mage 3 - The Final Journey
After being trapped between two worlds, Wizzy is back for his final journey,

Explore a large world full of enemies and find the keys that will allow you to progress
to the next area. Find your father before the timer runs out and it is too late!

Gameplay:
Gameplay wise, the game plays more like the Mage: The Enchanted Crystals than Mage 2: The Dark Mirror, except in a much larger world. There is also the addition of guarded treasure rooms that keep special items such as keys and checkpoint-saves.

At 4 times the size of the original game, the game is the biggest Mage game to date. It is also the first game to feature fully animated double-resolution sprites for all ingame graphics.

Trailer:
Bonus points for spotting the wizard of odyssey...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zj0ICie8eY&list=PL903BE967E12CA748

Double Resolution Graphics:
Mage 3 is the first videopac/odyssey2 game to employ fully animated double-resolution graphics for all ingame objects. This allows for twice the amount of detail of regular videopac sprites!

Below you will find an illustration of the normal-resolution sprites similar to those from mage1 and mage2 and their new double-resolution counterparts:

The double resolution graphics look even better when fully animated.

Game features:
- Playable on Videopac and Odyssey2 consoles
- High resolution backgrounds on Videopac+ consoles
- Large world with more than 60 screens
- Fully animated Double Resolution ingame sprites
- Multicolored sprites and backgrounds
- Checkpoints to save progress
- Guarded Treasure rooms
- Digitized speech using the voice add-on
- Internet highscore uploading
- Online rewards system

Release information:
The game will have a regular cartridge release of 80 units.
Release date: June 2014

The games are 39 euros each. Worldwide shipping&handling is 8 euro.
Refurbished plastic videopac cases for the games are also available for an additional fee.

You can order the game now by going to: http://www.revival-studios.com/store and adding the game to your basket  This webpage also contains all my spare videogame stuff i have for sale/trade, so add anything you like and i will email back to you the cheapest option for combined shipping, etc.
Alternatively you can PM me or email me at info (at) revival-studios (dot) com .

Collectors Edition:
There will also be a Collectors Edition of the game (20 copies) that will contain:

- Collectors Edition cover of the game with index card
- The game cartridge with a unique serialised label
- Plastic refurbished videopac case
- A Silver box with a small canister keychain inside.
- Inside the canister you will find a secret message that will be key to unlocking more content.

Also, the Collector Editions will be shipped out before the regular version, so you'll be able to play the game early.

Update: All 20 collectors editions have been sold out and shipped.

Hope you guys will enjoy this final chapter of Wizzy's Journey!

So, Wizzy`s final journey beginns in a few days.  Shocked

I didn`t know if I am happy (to finally play this game) or sad (that the trilogy has an end)  Huh?

I choose.... to be glad and help Wizzy to find his dad.

.... maybe we see him again in Mage 4 - Wizzy and the chamber of secrets  Cheesy

This looks very similar to the affect of the force shield in UFO, as those shimmering dots are not standard resolution, at least not in the sense. Will be interesting to see this in action here.

Nope. UFO uses standard resolution sprites and characters. The only games i know of that have employed something along the same lines as this are some of rafaels projects and Qbert.

I'm sure it used normal sprites, but when playing the game, if you look closely, the force field does not look like standard resolution. That is what I'm talking about. A screen shot of it will not show it. It is like the dots used for the shield are shiftily slightly enough to give an odd extra resolution effect. So to myself, since I first played UFO, the answer is Yes. JMHO.

A closeup video of it would show this, but I don't have that.

I'm thinking about hosting a mage3 competition in july.

If anybody has any suggestions for a first prize, let me know.
I'm happy to give away another game of mine, but there is always a chance that the winner might already have all my games.

3 suggestions for now, will post again if I think of any more.

1) A3 size posters of the cover art of the mage trilogy (set of 4 - mage, both mage 2 and mage 3)

2) Voucher for money off future purchase of game or from your store.

3) Personalized copy of next game. (name on cover of manual and label on cart.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Maybe a combination of 1 and 2. I was thinking about something like a mage3 poster with previously unseen artwork, as i currently have some unused mage3 artwork of the wizard of odyssey.
