The original controller often has a inaccurate control.
Shure, you can use another Joystick like the Competition Pro but for a hardcore collector the controler have to be original.
So here iíll show you how to mod your controller to an Arcade Controller.

I bought

The tools i used are
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • needle-nose pliers
  • side cutter
  • scissors
  • scalpel
  • pen
  • white marker
  • ruler
  • Postit
  • milling cutter
  • grinder
  • Cutting disc rough and fine
  • multimeter
  • silicone

First dismount the controller.

Then cut away the round nose.

To cut out the correct hole, I mad a mask.
I used a Postit and marked the middle.

To put it in center, I hold the controller into the light so I see the middle through the hole.

Now mark where you have to cut with a marker and remove Postit.

Then I used the milling cutter to cut the hole.
(I began with the other hole, not the center hole like in the picture)

After cutting test if the Button fits in.

Youl notice, that the button will not fit inside complete because he is bigger than the original firebutton.

So I marked where the edges are.

After that remove the plastic.

ATTENTION!
Donít go to deep because there is not much material and youíll be through fast if you donít care.

You only have to remove to the hight of the cover.

If you are done, the Button should fit aligned to the cover.

Next yo have to remove the edge of the Axis-star so the new arcadestick fill have a flat seat.

I used the rough cutting disc for that.

If done, the stick will fit.

Next I fixed all with silicone so the button is fixed and the stick canít twist.
ATTENTION!
Be careful to align the stick exactly and be careful that you donít glue the button itself.

Now solder the cables.

Donít forget to prepare the cable to prefent pulling out while playing.

Now test, and if all is ok assemble all.

And now enjoy the new gamingexperience.  Smiley
