The whole CSV thread gave me the idea for this topic...

What do consider the most frustrating game ever and why?

Don't be limited to Vpac/Ody games but think of any system from any era.

Share!  Smiley

I think for me CSV/Kinder im verkehr is a good candidate because it is so simple and I just couldn't figure it out. I am sure there are more games that greatly frustrated me and I will probably remember them later. ;-)

Fortress of Narzod - Vectrex - just bleeding tough

Ghosts 'n Goblins - Genesis - tough as hell on Practice mode, never could finish it on normal mode.

Or similar.... At work, and don't have my database handy. It is probably the other game in this line then. Either way, damn tough game.

Ghosts 'n Goblins is a bad one, never understood why it was such a hit.

I  like it , anyway I never cared to complete it.
Talking about my fav console, I think some frustations to me are:
Billiards, not bad at all, but the important factor in a billiards game are the phisics, hit a ball and donīt know exactly it goes is really bad.
Thunderball, just like billiards, thereīs some fundamental things in a Pinball table, like objectives and certain control of the ball.
Soccer/Hockey: Here, almost of us love soccer. It was a game I ever dreamed to get in the childhood, but I couldnīt find. When finally I get it, I became sad because itīs a 2 player game. When finally I founded someone to play it, I discovered it was unplayable for 2 players, too.
Nightmare: I ever wanted to see a ghosts game for Ody, when I discovered a ghost game was made I get excited. All in this game is very cool: sounds, sprites, plus graphics. But the gameitīs just to run in zigzag and die when you get 100 lives.

On the Odyssey2/Videopac, it has to be Loony Balloon. I love that game, but man, is it hair-pullingly frustrating at times.

On other platforms, I'd nominate Rampart. When you desperately need a certain piece to complete your castle wall, and the game resolutely refuses to give it to you...as Charlie Brown would say, "AAUGH!"
