I am happy to report that DEATH RACE ( NTSC version, Odyssey2 style ) will be available for sale on Wednesday October 1, 2014.
I will begin taking orders on that day.

VideopacBelgium will be releasing the Videopac style release in October. I did not want to hi-jack his post from today as well, so please read his post as well in this forum.

100 numbered cartridges are being made ( 1 of 100, 2 of 100, 3 of 100)

I am also happy to report that the game will be packaged in a new style of box. I will post some pictures soon.

In the meantime, please visit the web site ( which is still under construction - thank you for your patience) @

thank you!

Looks like a fun game. Artwork is awesome too.
If I read it correctly this is only a one player game? Not two player? I would really like to be able to play it with a friend and it looks like it's a two player.

Also the crosses in the screenshot look like crosses but in the vid you only see the bottom half. Is this because the vid hasn't captured every video-field?

Compliments! Looks funny!

Yes, great artwork.  Cool

I think, this cover (and game) would be impossible in the eighties (especially for Philips Videopac).  Cheesy

I read the text again twice but couldn't find this quote. Then I saw it was a screenshot caption. I have just now finished with banging my head against the wall.

1 or 2 players. Excellent! The way it should be. Smiley

Here some info on the original arcade machine (and a clear hint of where they got the awesome manualcover  Cool ) :http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7541

Here is the new style box. We are trying out a case that is designed to hold a VHS videocassette. Nice and sturdy. All black.

I can't take the credits for the artwork, that came from original arcade marquee and flyer ads.
I just vectorized in high-res and colorized using photoshop.

Everyone can test the game on emulator, get the last rom here : http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?topic=2328.msg23238#msg23238.

The cart version have some improvements and a nice tile screen.

Yes,  I knew the art came from the original arcade, anyway to vectorize this kind of art is a lot of work Shocked
