Hello everyone!

My name is Svante, and I'm from Sweden.

The first encounter with the Videopac, was back in 1982, around christmas.
I went with my dad and sister to a local electronics store, and we ended up in the Videogame section.
I remember that they had an Atari 2600 and an Videopac on the demo bench.
The only videogame system, that had experienced by then, was our old Philips (Magnavox) "Pong" machine.
But this was something else. It was closer to the arcade experience.

What I didn't know, was that we were getting a console for Christmas.
And we ended up with the Atari 2600, which at the time was a wise choice, considering that the library of titles was way bigger.
But for years, I always wondered what it would be like, to own that cool console with a keyboard, but sadly I never again saw one in real life.

As a collector of old systems, like the Atari 2600 (yes my old system from 1982 still works), the Intellivision, the Vectrex etc.
I thought it would be about time to take a closer look on the Videopac.

I tried a few games on an emulator, and realised that I have missed out on a lot of fun games during the last 33 years.
And also, I was happy to see that there are a lot of interesting homebrews available as well.

So I pulled the trigger, and bought a system, a bunch of classic games (Munchkin, Crazy Chase, Pick Axe Pete etc.), and also today, the homebrew game "Death Race".

It might not be the favorite system, amongst most retro collectors, but it really IS an awesome system, that deserves a LOT more love.
And I'm glad that I finally have got the chance to own a machine, after all those years Smiley

And also, I'm glad that I found this great forum Smiley

Cheers!!
