I love my Game Gear. I love buying games for it online. Suddenly I came to the realization that one day, I will have a complete Game Gear collection (ones that I can actually AFFORD, anyway. No Mega Man for me.) Then I had an idea. I didn't want the Game Gear's library to end. So I thought to myself, I shall create a Game Gear game myself. So that's what I decided to do. I spent a few nights coding, including an all-nighter, and I got the beginnings of a game called "Mr. Ultra." So what I have so far is a platform game. Right moves Mr. Ultra right and the 1 button makes him jump. All the game does so far though is display a hole to jump over and an enemy to jump over, and that pattern repeats itself. The enemies are walking bananas. And, you press the start button on the title screen to start the game. Right now I'm using and learning assembly to create the game. For those who remember my failed attempt on the Odyssey 2 "Super Giuseppe," it's a lot like that, only on the Game Gear. Here is a link to the official Mr. Ultra page where you can download the ROM and view the code. http://www.atari2600land.com/mrultra/ If you have a Game Gear emulator or if you're lucky and have access to a Game Gear Everdrive, download it and tell me what you think.
