I see a lot of names on the ARCADE that are not listing high scores for Pick Axe Pete!/#43/Did Na Mina Enchantada!  Lets see what you guys and gals are made of with a pick axe in your hand.  What's a matter, afraid of a few boulders?   Smiley

haha, maybe their legs aren't as good as they used to be, or maybe the pickaxe is to heavy for their old flabby weak arms  Grin

Programming Oops:  You can actually get stuck in between floors if you move the joystick left or right while climbing the ladder.  It cost me a life today  Cry

No new high score here, nothing even close.  Maybe later...

MORE TIPS:  1) I'm not certain its 100% but the first boulder's that colide create a pick axe, the key comes later.  That was my experiance after a dozen games tonight. 2) You can catch an axe as it falls to the ground.  This can get you out of a few jams.

Yep. You can free yourself by jumping like crazy (specially towards doors), if I recall correctly.

I think that's correct, I never saw the key come first.

Okay, I actually sat down today and played some PAP!

I still remember getting this game when it first came out. It blew me away back then, and it is still my favorite game today (on the Odyssey2). Back then, the closest thing to it was Donkey Kong on the 2600 - which I thought sucked (still do). Of course, it is not a good comparison, as PaP is something different. Just has a similar 'level' screen is all. Some people don't care for this game, and frankly, I don't get why they don't get it!  Roll Eyes

Well, after having some difficulty (2 300+ scores destroyed - see comments in another post here), I got my best score today, 585! Not bad for an hour of playing the game. No where near my best score, but not bad for a bit of playing.

Oh, and I noticed one thing right from the start - as I have been reading other people's post here. The pick is not always the first thing to appear! My very first game, I watched, and the first thing I got was a 'key!' So I guess the 'pick first' may happen more often, but it actually can be key or pick.

Well, that was fun for an hour. Still a very fun game, after all these years!  Wink

Yes, after playing it again I noticed the same thing.  I honestly played for over an hour the other day and NEVER had the key appear first.  Strange!  I still haven't been able to beat my previously posted score.  I have to admit it's been a little harder than normal since my time has been split between PAP and Tutankham  Embarrassed

I put some rare free time to good use this holiday weekend and was able to get 753 points!!!  I'm pretty sure that is an all-time high for me.

Go ahead and try to beat my score (I'm sure most of you can).  Only one week until the December Game of the Month!!!

Ah, I can't seem to get past 300 points, since my 500+ game. No where near my best around 5-7 years ago.
