Because of the red sign in the title screen.
The picture is from the video.

I know, you understand german. So here something from Wikipedia, because I can`t translate something like this:

"Auch in Teilen der Schwarzen Szene wird dieses Kreuz verwendet, oft allerdings als Provokation, als Zeichen fr die Ablehnung der Kirchen als Organisationen oder die Ablehnung des Christentums an sich..."

Won't be buying this game.  Title screen is offensive.

You can buy this version if you prefer.
A limited run was released.

I think games are a type of art, just like books, music or movies

That's the way I see it too.

I will buy it.

This concerns the inverted cross. I've always been a horror movie fan, the first thing I remember collecting was horror comic. Anyway, what is normal for me may not be for the other. Reviewing my concepts a little, I do not particularly play "Hunting Games", I think different people and cultures may be sensitive to different things. Maybe we have to be more careful.

10 copies of the "unoffensive title version" Amityville are released.
Numbers 41 to 50 for Odyssey2.
The inverted cross doesn't appear on the title screen and in the manual.

Anyone playing this game?  Got a quick review of it?

It was included on VGCs Halloween Special:

Got censored version from http://videopac.fr/  today.

Couple of thoughts after 30 min of gameplay:
Would have been neat to see dice roll
I'm trying to find pattern of when to press action button when doing battle with monster.  Does that make sense, or are the rolls random?
Lightning doesn't seem to happen much, any pattern to it?
Anyway to see magic spell player is holding?  I wish it was like the key, i.e. with icon on the screen
After pressing action button it takes a little bit to rest until the next attack.  Wish the rest was a little quicker.
Do the monsters normally take the same number of steps towards the player?
Pressing up with flash light shows a gray bar in the light. Is that suppose to mean a certain distance into the house?

Lightning appears when you run into monster.
8 attacks until you are hit

428 is my high score.  What are others getting?

edit: ok I see game critic got 640 score.  That is really good.  I'm starting to think the monsters, chest and key are all at certain places.  Sort of like how Astrododge really isn't random.  Perhaps graph paper would help to map things out.

Yes, the color of the flash light indicates the type of spell.

Does one step equal one press of controller up, or one gray bar going past in the flashlight?

I'm using one gray bar to count the spaces.
Then dividing the screen up left to right as: 0,25,50,75,100.

Position 25, up 2  = key
Position 100, up 3.5 = chest
Position 100, up 3 (avoids monster on left)
Position 50, up 2 = Chest

Is that how people are playing?

Is there anything to the battles?  Are they really random?  I understand players chances are higher with weak enemy, however it would be great if the sound or monster animation played a part in the battle as well.
