I got bored with what I was doing, and with Oranges finished, I thought I should make yet another project on the Odyssey 2. So with fireworks blasting, I went to work coding. I wanted a puzzle game, since Puzzle Piece Panic seems to be the only one on the Odyssey 2. I came up with an idea that seems simple enough to do on the Odyssey 2: Chu Chu Rocket. If you don't know what Chu Chu Rocket is, it's a puzzle game where you lay certain tiles on the floor with arrows on them to guide the Chu Chu mice to a rocket all while avoiding touching a cat. If the mouse hits a wall or bump, it will move to the right. That's why the arrow tiles are needed: To guide the mice to a rocket to escape the cats. I thought one mouse should be sufficient enough all while keeping the programming simple yet still getting the main idea in the game. Here's what I hope to accomplish:

characters 0 and 1 are the mouse.
sprite 0 is the cat.
the three remaining sprites can be the arrow tiles.

I tested my Odyssey 2 knowledge and have made this binary file of a mouse going through a simple maze. So, what do you think?

I have made a website for the game. It's here:
http://www.atari2600land.com/mouseinthehouse/
Newest July 5 version has the mouse's ears facing the correct way.

I wanted a puzzle game, since Puzzle Piece Panic seems to be the only one on the Odyssey 2.

Reminds me "Viagem Programada" itīs also a puzzle game
Chinese Logic "Videopac 17" also can be included on this genre.

There are now seven mazes. Pick one by entering 01-07 the "Pick" screen and pressing Enter. A lot of work went into making the extra tens digit code, so I hope it works and I can make more than 9 puzzles to test the code I made with it.

Changed the name of the game to "Cat vs. Rat." I added a title screen and fixed a few bugs pertaining to choosing a puzzle. The colors are a bit odd though. In O2EM, the title screen is magenta like in the attached pic, but on a real O2, it's more of a lighter shade of purple.

An interesting game. I suggest that the player can only advance level when he completes the previous level.
You need to create something to abort the move.

I fought with this game's code for a few days and FINALLY made it so pressing Action during a move returns it back to the original places and you can move the arrow again.

Help me.
I'm trying to add a ninth maze but I can't. All the grid displays is garbage. What am I doing wrong and how do i get the grid to display correctly?
my problem starts at line 1375, so you don't have to wade through all my code.

Think I figured it out. Added a ninth maze. Although it seems like nobody really cares anyway...

The object of the game is to get the mouse to the cheese with the arrows without getting caught by the cat. You move the arrow tile around so it helps the mouse get to the cheese and then press Action. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

I'm back working on this again. I added my new intro to games I make for the Odyssey 2 and added an 11th maze. I hope to have at least 15 mazes on here. I wanted 19, but that isn't going to happen.
