Hi all,
I've checked my cache too but unfortunately nothing is left there anymore.
I'm thinking of putting an add on ebay for this forum so most of the old chaps will find out that there is a new forum. I have already entered the forum into google but it can take up to 30 days before it starts showing up there.
Anyone else any idea's?
Greetings,
Janzl

Well, if the videopac.org host is gonna release the database I guess I'll first need permission from Richard as he is the owner. So we first need to get in touch with him. I have never fisited the forum from odysseymania but his site is in spanish so I guess his forum is too. But we can always try off course I will write to Packrat and odyssey2.classicgaming. Keep the idea's pooring in please

fisited? Oh my dog... I need some sleep I guess... Does anyone know if the site http://odyssey2.classicgaming.gamespy.com is still active? His last post was in 2006 and his contact page gives a 404 error.

No reply from Richard to the email yet I think google indexes based on the number of links to your pages, so the more people that add links to here the better. Definitely see if you can get Rene to add a link, because if I do a google search for "videopac forum" then Renes page is top of the result.

Is it not possible to contact the host of videopac.org,ukhost4u.com and ask them if it is possible to get access to the data for saving?
I've contacted them, they won't do anything unless you're the owner of the website.

Hi all,

I didn't mean your personal cache, but the cache at google.com . I've seen a cache of videopac.org at google dated 16 august 2007.

Hello all (thanks for the tip, thunderstruck). Let's hope videopac.org comes back soon, there's a lot of golden material there, it would be a shame if we just lost that. Btw, I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but I can only load the first 2096 (yes, 2096, not 2048 or 4096) bytes from www.videopac.nl, then the server stops responding. I'm browsing from a proxy atm.

That is strange... I'm not having these problems myself. I'll check with my host. Anyone else having these problems?

I think google indexes based on the number of links to your pages, so the more people that add links to here the better.
Google mainly gets its ranking from the code in your website. I've found this out years ago - if you have really good meta setup in the code, Google will find you and put you near the top of the list when people search for specific sites. It has worked very well for myself and my two sites and blogs. As for a link to here, I will put one on my site within the week (probably over the weekend). P.S. One thing, since you just have this listed as the Videopac forum, people searching for Odyssey2 may not easily find it using Google - make sure you put Odyssey2 in a meta file. Not sure where these would be in this particular forum software - sorry, I only know phpBB.
