Oh Bollocks can I afford that Ebay item?

« on: March 25, 2008, 07:58:36 PM »

I just bought a unit from a Dutch collector and to my utter surprise several EPROMS came along with the machine. These appear to be standard copies of some games already released, but some have weird names such as :-

Crazy Horses - Any idea which game this could be?

doolhof or coolhof - this is another one

veldslag - is written on another

gokkasl - again any help??

the vast majority of these games have numbers written on the EPROMS so I think they are standard copies, I have not had chance to go through them so there may be some beta versions in there! I will keep you posted, I think I'll have a videopac session this weekend Wink

Doolhof = Maze
Veldslag = Battle
Gokkast = Fruit machine
Crazy Horses = Gekke Paarden  Tongue

I have no Idea what the Crazy Horses could be...

I would say gokkast sounds like it could be Las Vegas Gambling (23). The dutch game title for this game is: Las Vegas Gokmachine (machine is also could also be called kast)
Veldslag could be Battlefield (30). In dutch that game is called Slagveld. Also the same as is veldslag.
Doolhof could be A Labyrinth game(32), the dutch name for this game is Doolhof-spel.
The only one i realy can't come up with a game name would be Crazy Horses.
So that one could be a proto.

Good luck Andy (and all of us!) with this Crazy Horse!
If this is a real new game that will be some great news for the videopac community!

I don't remember any "horse" or similar in any videopac game...

The chances are extremely slim but if I find time I will give you an update on Friday. I'm having lots of work done on the House but the good news is I got my videopac out of the loft so if I get a spare hour then I'll have a go!

Isn't Crazy Horse an unfinished monument in South Dakota (US)?

Yes.  He was a famous American Indian.  When I read about the game my first thought was a cowboy vs indian type game.  Since it is titled Crazy Horses (plural)It leads me to believe it wouldn't be about an American Indian.  Maybe its a "Stampede" remake?  I just can't think of ANY O2/Videopac game that had horses in it...

Maybe the previous owner just didn't know the name of the game exactly and wrote Crazy Horses instead of Crazy Chase...
