Post Datasheet for VDC

I thought I make a new topic, as it doesn't REALLY fit into the other one, I just got an answer from the Intel Museum:

"After a check with the archives, we regret that our service will be unable to fulfill your request. The datasheet you requested is for a product custom made for a third party and is not publicly available through Intel?."

too bad Sad

I guess a possibility would be to get it through Philips/Magnavox (which should be able to get them ... anyone an idea ?)

The Intel museum said that this product (video chip) is custom made for a third party, but if you read the first page of the preliminary datasheet carefully, you get the impression that they wanted to use the chip for other purposes too, for example: 8085 compatible, mask programmable character ROM, multiple videochips could be connected to each other. Or did they think Magnavox would make several different devices using this chip?

yea, I read that, too ... looks like they had bigger plans for it ... ("suitable also for use in teaching machines, animation displays, simulation trainers etc.") - but as those were preliminary ones, there may have been no exclusive deal with magnavox signed at that time
