Lets ring in the new year with an Imagic game.  Demon Attack is the game of the month.

Ah, Demon Attack. Bought that game in late 1985. Never liked it too much though. Graphics are nice, except that old standard 'mushroom shaped' laser cannon, and really annoying sound. It plays a bit slow. Hate to say it, but I prefer the Atari 2600 version.

Atlantis on the contrary is one of my favorite Videopac games, a real challenging, fast game and especially the 'Blitz Bomb' is a nice addition to the 2600 version. And the graphics also look very nice on a G7000.

Yeah, Demon Attack is better on the 2600, but the O2 version is pretty good. I just hate when you get hit more than one time in a row from those darn flying demons...  Angry

I LOVE this game!  I spent quite a bit on it, even with a spotty label and a poor box.  But it was well worth it.

PDF I remember on your site you said this game was pretty rare in the U.S.  I haven't seen many floating around lately, just how rare are they?

I think the people involved with Parker Odyssey games made the better possible, anyway the Imagic seems did it with some dismiss. Defend the earth with a tree is pathetic. I remember when I get my DA, after press 0, I saw that tree, I almost cried Sad
Sadly, the 2600 versions to the same game are better, the INTV are outstanding. By other side, Imagic could be made some diferent titles to Ody, like Fathom or Dragon Fire, since both Imagic releases are shoter and the Ody have a shooter far better: (Attack Of Timelord/Terrahawks).

Well, back in the days I only knew Demon Attack from the A2600. I never knew it existed for the  VP/O2 since a couple of years ago.
When I saw it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the christmas-tree-shaped canon is a bit laughable but still to be expected from our beloved system.

I was amazed what they did with the demons. I think they are one of the best sprites available. Also the colored lines on the bottom of the field were quite a surprise to me.

I like the game very much and I agree that it is a flaw that the demons can destroy you the moment you spawn.

Does anyone how many different demons there are in the game? I haven't been able to get pass the big-mouthed ones.

Great game! Especially on the VP/O2

Oh yeah, and I love the artwork on the box! I had those dinosaur toys as a kid. Only not silver ones. I guess Imagic's creative department fixed that.

I didn't have Demon Attack back in the days, I bought Atlantis, liked the "story" and atmosphere of that one.

When I began collecting in the 90s, I got the game pretty soon but never played it a lot, maybe I thought it was "just another Space Monster", I was very disappointed with Videopac 22, as it didn't even have "real" scoring.

So the first time I really gave the game a chance was last December when I played it on the emu. It is not an easy game and I had to play a few games until I "came into it". Now I like the game!! The Demons are great designed and animated and the gameplay is challenging.

My high score so far was 4470 points on 15th December. Should play it again soon.

Does anyone know how many different versions of Demon Attack exist?  Obviously the Odyssey2 and atari 2600 are on the list.  I don't think they ported it to Colecovision.  I seem to recall a Intellivision version.  Anyone else know of others?

I saw an Intellivision version at a flea market, it had a silver box but with tape all over it so I didn't get it.
