After two decades playing ?nly videogames, it seems I can't even get an emulator started.
This is what I did:

- downloaded o2em118win.zip and O2EMLauncher055.zip
- unzipped the files
- started O2EMLauncher.exe
- in the tab "Setting", I added the paths for folders ROMS (O2EM\ROMS) and EMU (O2EM)
- in the tab "Roms", I select a videopac and hit "Launch O2EM"
- then I get the following window: "Error loading bios ROM (C:\...\O2EMLauncher055\roms\bios_c52.bin)
- when I change the Rom file in the O2EMLauncher settings from default roms\bios_c52.bin to one of the bios files in the O2 directory, the O2EMLauncher window just disappears

Can anybody please help me?

You can try The Videopac Base (TVB) by PerfectStranger, including a lot of scans, bins and O2EM.

This is how my O2em directory looks:

This is how my o2launch.ini file looks:

[SETTINGS]
ROMS_DIR=roms
EMU_DIR=
ROM_FILE=bios\g7400.bin
SHOT_DIR=shots
COVER_DIR=covers
MANUAL_DIR=manuals
PICVIEWER=
TEXTVIEWER=notepad.exe
DEBUG=0
NOAUDIO=0
NOVOICE=0
SCANLINES=0
EUROMODE=1
ENABLEFILTER=1
FULLSCREEN=0
SPEEDLIMITER=0
AUDIO=50
VOICE=75
SPEED=100
WINDOW=2
STICK1=2
STICK2=1

Please try it this way on your computer.

Hi Rene,

thanks for the info, but it still doesn't work. Maybe I'll give that other emulator a try.

I always work directly from DOS.

i have the O2EM directory placed in the root C:\\O2EM.

In this folder I have made a shortcut to the dosprompt.

Then I type cd.. until I am in the root of C:

To get into the O2EM directory I type cd o2em

Then you can startup O2EM with the rom of your choice: o2em.exe im_atlantis.bin

i had the same proplems you had with starting up from O2EMlauncher.exe and this is the only way I get the emulator to play.

Now the emulator still gives me problems when I want to close it to play another rom. I always get an error when it closes down. A little workaround I have figured out is to press F4 to get into the debugger. When I close O2EM from that point I hardly ever get the error.

Hope this all helps because the other emulator, allthough it looks very promising, is far from completed.

I don?t know if you solved your problem but someone post this link on Orkut?s Odyssey community, open the folder and find the o2emlauncher, create a short cut. It?s ready and contents 80 games. I not tested it (because I already have o2em) but some people replied and liked.

It works!  I have no idea why I can't get the original to run on my computer but I just downloaded the program at the link and it works.  Now if I can just figure out what keys work for the different games.

Usually the control keys are ASDW and space (left control) and arrow keys and L (left control), F5 to reset.
