You will find the Eurocon room in a rural area of Vienna, in a building that is called "Sargfabrik" (coffin factory) - this is the place where besides others the coffin of Emperess Sissi was manufactured ... unfortunately it's not the original building anymore, but the place has been rebuilt and is now an event location.
We will be in the seminar room:
we will have a kitchen to make coffee, tea and have snacks and cheap cold drinks in the fridge, but there are also restaurants close by, and we have excursions planned to the city center (and beyond) for sights and food and drinks.
Hotels & Parking
There is plenty of space on the street close to the room to park your car, but it's also easily reachable by public transport (U3 subway) - so any hotel close to a U3 station is fine, but there are also some in walking distance, some booked already by visitors of Eurocon:
Hotel-Restaurant Fritz Matauschek
Hotel & Apartments KLIMT
HB1 Hotel Wien Schoenbrunn
If you arrive to Vienna by train, the closest Station is "Westbahnhof", as you can take the subway U3 in direction Ottakring to Huetteldorferstraße and walk from there to the Eurocon room.
If you arrive at "Hauptbahnhof" (Vienna main station), it's almost as easy - take the subway U1 to Stephansplatz, switch to U3 in direction Ottakring to Huetteldorferstrasse and walk from there.
If you arrive by plane at "Vienna Schwechat" airport - take the fast train (Schnellbahn) to the city center ("Wien Mitte"), switch to U3 in direction Ottakring to Huetteldorferstraße and walk from there.
Don't take the CAT (City Airport Train) - it travels the same way as Schnellbahn, is only 5 minutes faster, but costs about 4 times as much as a ticket for the Schnellbahn.
