Mission impossible/ programmed trip 1ste release got released in mid 2006 don't know the exact date. Somewhere on digital press Lurpak and CCC says it wil be released on July 1 2006. So this could be the date.

The price i got on my reciept is:
MIPT game ? 60,-
P&P ? 6,-
Optional additional insurance ? 4,-
Member discount - ? 26,-
Total ? 44,-. So maybe this is the correct price?
On the videopac.org site the price for a 1ste edtion mipt is ? 34,-
2nd edition ? 15,-

MIPT original designed by ectron

Just to remember, Mission Impossible/Programmed Trip is not a prototype, this game was released originaly by a small brazilian company called Ectron.

another tweak... added all the know multi-carts, and alphabetized the list.

Will see what I can do down the line to make this thing look better.

once again: Dieter did not program Flashpoint ;-) (it was Rex Battenberg and the game was an O3 prototype)

SOrry, obviously missed that. Corrected for now. As far as it being an O3 prototype, I'm not documenting that here (at least not at this point in time) - just released games and some fact behind them.

Route 66 was number 66.
Surely being an O3 proto counts as special  ???

Interpol version 1 had 40 copies released. There that can be used to update the list!

update 18/10/07.

Okay, update 66 with #66,

Making note of O3 proto  :P

Interol amounts!? http://www.silicium.org/console/philips/vpac_61.htm says 50 were made. So is this true, or is it really 40!?

Thanks manopac, grgh and andryals!  :)

I remembered the 205 multcart, but how I  know the most of people have problems with it. It was 6 months to receive my copy, without manual, and I need to be happy, since some of people I know never saw it.

I got mine pretty much straight away. I do remember john going through a divorce or something similar and this stopped the production of the cart, generally John dondzilla is quite a good guy to do business with.

Rafael, how much did this thing cost?  The site show 'Pre?o: R$ 130,00', but I do not know if that means $130, or something else?
 ???

Oh, and thanks Rene and Rafael, I totally forgot about this thing. I would guess not many where made.

And grgh - nice pictures! How did you get into my house to take them!  :P
(Sadly, I never got the Interpol, otherwise I have exactly what you have pictured...)

P.S. 205 cart added to list - does 'anyone' actually have one of these?

Hmm, there is no year in the game, and noone from GST remembers. 1983 I would guess. Maybe there is a year in the source code? We'd had to ask Rene ...

I've never found any hidden text in the source code of a Videopac or Odyssey2 game.

Since the first Videopac games made by GST were released in 1983, the other GST games are probably from 1983 as well. (or maybe 1984, Philips seems to have stopped counting the years for Videopac games after 1983. The last Videopac games have been released in 1984, but still have 1983 printed on them.)

I just had a look at the PCB and Eproms for Martian Threat, the EPROMS are from 1981, but the PCB has no date, sometimes they do but not in this case.  I have no idea about Melrep.

Does this mean the game was made in 1981 (programmed), or is it a date from the EPROM itself? Only reason I ask, is that most GST Video games are from around 1984.

Title: Re: List of 'released' Homebrew and Prototype games

"SEA RESCUE" is a homebrew and therefore can not claim to obtain a number (Videopac 73?) reserved for official games and for prototypes.

However the exception that proves the rule is "ROUTE 66" (homebrew) who got the number 66.

Question: Why Retrogenesis hasn't numbered its 3 official games (not homebrews): "ROBOT CITY" as #70? ...NIGHTFIGHTER as #71? ...and POWERLORDS as #72?

So this "SEA RESCUE"  by Rafael will be released in format VIDEOPAC + SR with letters instead of numbers and will be released on O2 as RC-001.

Another question: Does a homebrew must have the PHILIPS logo or should it be unbranded?

Okay. First, there are no rules, and hopefully never will be (show me where everyone agreed on these 'rules'. Each producer to their own in my book.

Retrogenesis hasn't numbered the games, because he hasn't. Simple as that.

Frankly, I think Sea Rescue should be RC-001, VP and 02 versions. It is RC, not an official VP #. I really don't see the big deal with this. But again, each to their own. Do what you think is right in your book. I'm just happy the games are coming out! :)

As for the Philips logo, in my book, it should not have it. It wasn't made or programmed by Philips, thus is should not have the logo. JMHO.

My opinion: "Old" prototypes should be released as close as possible to the original, with numbering. Homebrews can be released in what style ever the author wants. However it always looks good, if all games from the same author are released in the same style.

Yes, the plan was to make 10. I would send 9 PCB's to Andy and keep the 10th, and he would send me the printed manual and cartridge label. Since he never send them to me, I never made the 10th PCB. (The same for Robot City and Night Fighter.)

1) Here, thereīs a guy that made: a)Repro of the 6 rarest brazilian games; b) Repro of some new releases (I totally disagree with this), like Amok, Mr. Roboto, and C) Repro of prototypes like Robot City and Shark Hunter. d) a Multcart
2) I remember someone, in old forum, made some copies of NTSC Frogger, and sold it on eBay
3)Finally, the first release of Route 66, I see it much more like an "unautorized" copie, since we donīt give it an OK, we couldnīt check the manual. In fact we even knew the game was already released (just some days later).

What deserves to be on the list is officially release home-brews and prototype reproductions. A few folks releasing their own stuff here and there doesn't count in my book. If others disagree, feel free to make a list of those game. I will not.

As for Route 66, it is here because it 'was' announced, even though the person doing so did it in a poor way. Thus it stays.

My idea is not include, itīs remove ;),  just as sugestion, of course. My idea is just "make" official a serious job, example. Tabajara multicart is included as official release, despite I had it, I canīt consider it an oficial release, I almost needed to call the police to get it, many people had not the same luck. In the other side we have people like Dieter, Marc, surely Tim, among others doing a really decent job on hbrew scene. Again,  itīs more for reflexion.

Are you talking just about removing the '205-In-1 Multicart' release? The Route 66 will stay in place.
THe 205-In-1 Multicart release was noted by enough people that I put it here. So far, you are the only one to argue the point. If anyone else can or will do so, I will consider removing it. Simply put, I need more the one person to remove a release on this list.

David

There's a second edition of Fatso! released numbering 26 more copies.
There's a second edition of Sea Rescue released numbering 26 more copies in the NTSC style.

The first edition of both used numbers to identify the different carts, the second edition uses letters to identify the carts.
Don't know if you want to add in a new line for each of the second edition or just amend the numbers for the original entry.

Great list, been using it to go through my collection and see what I am missing since I have come back to the Videopac scene.Keep up the good work.

Ditto! I was using this extensively yesterday on my snow day. I also got to finally catch up on forum entries going back to last October.

Thanks guys. I like doing this list. One day, it will be Web based from a database, at least that is the plan.

I will be adding those two 2nd releases eventually. Main reason, which I haven't asked yet, is if those games are being released yet, or on hold till they fill up?

At the worst I will be able to tell you in a couple of weeks time when I get paid because I still need Fatso! and Sea Rescue and will be ordering them.

Updated with recent info. Also have hit the limit for the number of lines here on the forum, so list is now split into two posts (A-M, and N-Z)

Couple of typos noted here (http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?topic=2339.0)

The title of the C7060 is "Game Selector".

Rafael's last name is written as "Cardoso".

For now, added the Revision 2 of the 233-in-1 multi cart, something I just found out about this past week. Rev 1 switches are on top of the cart, Rev 2 the switches are on the front. Another collectors item!  >:D

Not really sure when John switched to the Rev 2 version. Inside, it is much simpler too, with the Rev 2 version going to a custom PCB.

No. At this time, I would prefer if someone took over this task. I just don't have time for it now (yeah, no time for time). If Janzl reads this, or anyone, time for changing the keeper of the list.

Makes sense for me to do this even through I have not been active since Xmas due to family,Viral infection and work, work and more work.
Especially since it's linked in my signature.
A flavour Janzl, if it is possible to have two mods for this section, leave Ozyr as a mod please, it will not seem right not to see his name.
