I regret that I did not buy the near mint boxed G7000 with Verkerhrsspiele 1&2. Who was the seller?

Nognir

You also forget me Martijn :D But I also forgot to look in the forums since then.

I was also there at the Event and it was really great, although I spent a lot more money than I planned. But it was for a good cause :D
Got all the new Homebrew Games and hope to try them out today.

Sadly I missed to play the Mage 3 Prototype :(

It was Lenno, but he sold the set almost at the end of the fair to a German buyer ...

I hate you all :-) You guys only cost me money. But seriously, thanks for the fun times!

LOL

All your monies are belong to us!  >:D

Thanks to Robbert and Martijn for organising that great event. Eurocon and Retroevent were superb. The best thing was to meet so many well-known people again and some new faces which I knew from the forums but met for the first time in RL (VideopacBelgium, gertk, ptol, seob, etc.)

revivalstudios

I'm glad so many people liked the event.

Hopefully i get to do it again somewhere next year at the same location.
Surely, the eurocon crowd won't be there but hopefully i'm able to convince some of them to come anyways ;-)

I've got many ideas on how to make the event even better than this year (this includes having a voice to talk with ;-) so lets see how that pans out...

For now it is back to working on something-something casual: The first public demo of "Battle-Sub Aquatica" for mobile and playstation vita is in 7 days :S

For those who misted it: I found a video online.

Thanks for the videos Seob.

But what can I see at the G7400 from Videopac belgium? "Welcome to the NXP/LPC powered Rom+The voice emulator module for Videopac/Jopac+O2 by KGC C 2012"? What is it?

And the game on the right side of this G7400 ? What is that for a game - (also on G7400)?
;)  Killed the Killer Bees  ;)

My guess: Gert was near ;)
Good event, it´s nice to see a retro event really dedicated to retro systems.

Seob

Gert was displaying his voice/basic/multicart, a g7400 with display, a nxp based zx80, a microdrive emulator for the spectrum.

Yes I was right next to VideopacBelgium! The Rom and Voice emulator is still in prototype stadium but it is quite stable already. It just needs a proper PCB design to get the cost down and some software tweaks. (It now contains a LPCxpresso board with some unneeded hardware) It emulates the ROM to the Videopac in a novel way and the CPU has time left to do Voice emulation too. The games are on a microsdcard and the Voice sound is output on a 3.5mm jack. Ultimate goal is to get the module to emulate the C7420 Basic module and the Chess Module too.

The G7400 next to it has a LCD display (from an old TI laptop) which is running fully synced to the Videochip(s) of the G7400 so it produces a pixel perfect display. Invisible behind the display is another prototype, one of my earlier trials to emulate the C7420 Basic module. It consists of an 100% C7420 compatible rom cartridge which is now not connected to a large box with a Z80 and such but to a mbed module (microcontroller board with LPC cpu) with attached microsdcard for storage of the Basic programs.
At the event it ran my Basic version of a game called 'Fell Swoop' or 'Same Game' and of course the famous Helicopter Demo from the Basic Manual of the C7420

There´s also a nice Snake game, but I couldn´t find the topic ???

Tom Beck

Many thanks for the explanations Gert.

It is more than impressive what other people can do with the Videopac. I can only play the games  ;:)

It is a pity that Philips don´t know (or don´t want to know) what today is possible and that we all have also in 2013 so much fun with our Videopac/O2. All the new games (also the fantastic C 7060), the great community here in the forum or the Retro Event.

I am happy to be a Videopac owner  :D
