During this week I played some VG5000, so I remembered the good and old Sokoban. Since our beloved Ody is lacking of good puzzles it should be a nice adition. I don´t know if I have skill for that, but I decided to give it a start. So here it is. Not moving yet.

Rafael

I just uploaded a video about the progress on this game. Not many yet. I need to solve the puzzles first.

Lookin great Rafael.

If you can make this work you will create an awesome game. I love Sokoban so this would be really cool for the Ody/Vpac!

I think it should work. Actually it´s needed to check collision with the boxes and the points and change the levels. Major problems will be to design the levels, since I´ll need to select and solve the puzzles. Also, O2em is not working correctly on Windowns8, so the tools I used to design the levels are not being usefull, it´s discouraging :'(

LD

I also enjoy sokoban games. I'm afraid the grid is too simple for complex levels BTW.
Good luck!

If you still own a winXP install disk laying around, I recommend you to install Virtual Boxhttps://www.virtualbox.org/ on your PC, then you can install winxp (or even win98) just for emulation and old softwares, that's what I'm doing here (I'm using Linux, but all my odyssey2 stuff is done on virtual box with winxp).

Janzl

Thanks for the Virtualbox tip LD.

manopac

here's another tip (I didn't try, as I am not using Windows 8 (which is also the reason why there is no O2EM version that works on Windows 8 ... I will probably upgrade to Windows 10 once it is available)) - in Windows 7 there is an option for running programs in a compatibility mode - right click on the executable (O2EM.exe) and go to Properties -> Compatibility -> Compatibility Mode -> "Run this program in compatibility mode for" -> and try to select an older version of Windows (e.g., Windows 7 or Windows Vista)

please let us know if this works ;-)

Just "played" it on O2EM. I love the look of this game and the Red/White background is a great idea. Playersprite looks great too.

Even though the O2 has little choice in color I like the combination you have chosen. As far I'm concerned I think you have already finished the look. Only "little" thing you have left to do is the gameplay.

I really hope you can get this one to work.

I had tried it before. Sadly it not worked. But, in next month I´ll be getting the Windows 10, so I hope you can solve .

Thanks by tips. Actually I avoiding downloads because viruses and things like Badu, Hao 123 and these things. I hate these trashs. About the grid, there´s very nice with 3 boxes puzzles where the grid is enough. I planning to do these 3 boxes puzzles.

Since the game was created by a japanese I decided to use the colors of the japanese flag. When (if) I get a demo with at least 3 levels I´ll post a new rom.

As I said, I would post a demo of this game as soon as I had something, so here´s a 3 levels demo. In this gunpowder store everything can explode (if something goes wrong press "ACTION" to restart the level). Move the boxes carefully. The fewer moves, the better your score. I wish you all a 2107 full of joy, love, health, peace and many new games (someone there said oh no?)

Rafael

I mean 2017 (thanks, Marc :-*)
...But also a happy 2107 (why not ;:))

sokoban

YES!! Thanks!!
A playable sokoban game on the good old videopac of my childhood.
