Janzl

If you want, please share the meaning of your username with the rest of the forum.

Here's mine:
Janzl: My lastname is Jansen. A classmate of mine always called me "Herr Janzl", which is German for Mr. Jansen, each time I met him at school.
I always found that that sounded really funny so it stuck. We dutchies find that most of the german names sound really funny. I once saw a German guy called Schittekatter.

Anyway, years and years later I needed an accountname for somekind of forum and I remembered the name Janzl from way back. So, it stuck again!  ;)

Tom Beck

One day (a thursday in 2008), I wanted to register to this forum, because collecting Videopac without Videopac.nl is possible, but not so funny ;) and I wanted to preorder Robot City.

So there it was: Username? I have no idea. Thursday evening came one of my favourite german action series in TV. In the opening credits I saw the name of one of the actors: Tom Beck. So my real name is Thomas Becker. So I thought: Why not? Tom Beck is shorter, I liked the actor and I needed a username.

So on friday, I register as TomBeck.  :)  But after my registration, it took several years (till 2012  :-[ ) to be a real part of Videopac.nl,  because I had some fears to write in english.

daddy_scott

Pretty simple.  My name is Scott and I'm a father.   8)

ccc---

In the pre-internet days (mid 1990s) I had a club called Classic Consoles Club, probably one of the first clubs for retro gaming and collecting. At the end of the 1990s I closed down the club and called my website Classic Consoles Center, that's where ccc comes from. I used those initials also for forum registrations but noticed soon that ccc was not available anymore because someone other had already registered under that user name. So I added the three '-' signs, that was unique. And it has a meaning too. ccc are three Pac-Men hunting three --- pellets ;)

manopac

When I first signed up with ebay, I needed a name - at that time the things I was collecting and buying the most where records from the Heavy Metal band "Manowar" and games for the Philips Videopac -> ManoPac ;-)
sex, lies, and videopac

Back in the days when i only had pc's. I used to try different os's for my pc, one of them was beos. Really liked the power that beos had and from then on i used a dirivative of that name being Seob.

The first part of my story is the same as from Manopac: I needed a username for eBay.
The reason to register for eBay: someone told me that a G7400 console with C7420 BASIC module was for sale on it.
I first tried to register with just my firstname (Rene), but of course that was already taken. So I added the typenumber of my favorite console.
I've later used the same name for my website, my email address and for the forum on Videopac.org, and later also for this forum.

When I first saw your username I thought that your last name was Boes (which is a well-known name here).

partyicebear

Years ago I needed a username for a private poker site and I thought icebear seems cool enough. Years later I registered at pokerstars facing my favorite username already occupied. As I didn't like a postfix number like 483 I decided to take a funny prefix with the intension that the opponents don't take me seriously at gambling. Even though I wasn't very successful at this game I used this username for the upcoming game sites I joined.

Btw that raises my desire of playing Texas Holdem with VP. Is there arleady a game available?

Sweersa

My last name, and the first letter of my first name.  I use it on all of the other forums I frequent, most of which would probably freak out a majority of members here :D
