As some (or more) of you may have noticed the webbrowser-plugin 'Flash' is getting more and more negativity in the news. It should be slow, prone to security leaks and most browsers plus Facebook don't automatically support it anymore.
Today I saw a news item that stated that Adobe (the current developer of Flash) now itself advices against using Flash and says that we should make use of HTML5 games instead.

This is sad news for the arcade as all of its games are developed in Flash. A couple of them by me and it took me quite a while to complete them. (Yes I feel a bit irritated ;-) )

At the moment I have decided to leave the arcade be. But if future Flash-issues keep on rising I feel that I should remove it. Sorry to say.

Unfortunately not.

'The Arcade' is a plug-in for this forum's engine and it only accepts Flash.

People have been moaning about flash for years, especially Apple, but I work with several business apps that still rely heavily on it so I don't really see it being turned off overnight. I think you're ok for a while yet IMHO.

IMHO - give about another year, and axe it. Flash is on it's way out, and nothing is going to stop that. Just a simple fact.

Talking about bumping...  :D

Anyway, the forum's Arcade has been definately deleted for ever and ever and ever...

They killed Flash so they basically killed our own little arcade. It was fun while it lasted but in the last couple of years it was hardly used anymore. It taught me a thing our two on programming games so for me personally it had it's merits.

R.I.P. our forum's Arcade...
