My computer I used to make Odyssey 2 games has died. Now that I have a new one, I need to get the programs again. The thing is, I forgot where I got them. I would especially need the program that puts games from my computer to my C7050 cart. Is there some sort of compendium where I can get all the programs I need again?

I got almost everything I need so I decided to put it in a zip file and put it on my website so if I ever need it again I'll be all set. All I need is the program for putting programs on to my C7050 cartridge.

Chris

It would be wonderful if you could put all those files on your web site in a basic web page with a sentence or 2 for a description so everyone could have access to them. Many of us wish we were programmers and don't know where to begin. I , myself, if I can set aside some time, would like to begin by experimenting with some code samples, making some changes, and seeing what it does. I have ideas for games, but can't program... but I would like to learn...  this would be a start...

thanks

Tim

Actually, I was thinking of doing that. And I started. Here's what I have so far:

Perfect!  Thank you for doing this. You are a great inspiration to me and I am sure others here who want to learn how to program.

Chris has kindly added an example binary (and the source file).   The example shows how to make a sprite and move it across the screen.
It is time for me to study this and learn.

timdu (and everyone else interested in programming the videopac/ody2) - I would suggest to check out Rene's page for this:
http://home.kpn.nl/rene_g7400/vp_info.html

there is pretty much all the information available you need to start programming the Odyssey 2 - I want to point you to Sören Gust's former Videopac programming page (still available on web-archive), which includes real well written examples for sprites and joystick routines:
http://web.archive.org/web/20130615121310/http://soeren.informationstheater.de/g7000/Index.html

and Dan Boris' page:
http://atarihq.com/danb/o2.shtml

it includes all the assemblers/disassemblers needed - as well as the "Odyssey 2 Tech Manual V1.1" which contains all information about Odyssey2/Videopac hardware that you need
