[POLL] About the exclusive VP/O2 Book and Game to come at Côté Gamers!

Hi everybody!

I ask questions to the community about my VP/O2 book. It is in the layout sequence! It will be in A4 format and contain near 250 pages! Also it will come in bundle with an exclusive game.
With Côté Gamers we have the habit to consider different options. Our goal is to offer a product with high quality (not only its content!

You have probably seen our first release Frozen Fort, with a packaging like our other releases on other platforms.
Knowing this, we have several options. Consider that we can make things really beautiful and high quality but, of course, it will have a cost. But if a majority here would like something like that, we will do it! Our goal is to purpose something exceptional to people but we don't want to impose anything, it is just to know if something very good would please a maximum of people.

So, options could be:
- book with hard cover
- a sewn book, for more resistance (not glued)
- a common box containing the book and the game (so no « specific » box for the game like Frozen Fort)
- a poster of the main cover/illustration
- publishing separately the book, and the game. So no box for the whole things but a big box like Frozen Fort for the exclusive game. Note the two things will not sold separately (only the book could be bought alone)

So could you please answer in this topic and mention what you prefer in principle, a priori?

Honestly, we have thought to do something like that:
- a specific box containing the book, the game and more (goodies, encyclopedia sheets, poster, etc.) but the game will have also a box like Frozen Fort. So a sort of « collector » (but not collector like other publishers do as we don't want to limit it but offer it to every people who wants it! we will make preorder campaign to estimate the quantity to made). But, of course, it is not the cheapest option (in the contrary, it allows to keep a similar packaging for the game like the Frozen Fort one. And as we have other games for the future, it helps to have a sort of collection). Note that cheapest things is not our goal. We always try to purpose the best price of course - some projects at CG are not bankable but we do them for the labour of love and to have the capacity to cover all the video game history, not only blockbuster systems - but not at the expense of the quality and the pleasure. You know, authors, developers like to have not only their creation published but also a real good thing to have. For example, our game always include a making-of booklet, to preserve the genesis of a project, encyclopedic sheets are part of a very huge project too, we develop exclusive things in 3D, etc. So we always discuss with authors and adapt our editions to them.

I think that's all So please mention which option you could prefer for the book. We hope we can announce it officially during june. Probably the availability could be for september only as we will have lots of work for producing the game. The book is finished, the game is finished too So it is really a reliable project! And sorry for my English not very good!

Personally, I would prefer the game to be released in a similar box like Frozen Fort and the book well just bwig a separate book. I also think this makes most sense as the book is not really directl related to the game, right?
I like the more complex releases we had in the past like the treasure box that came with Mage, but honestly such merchandise like items are kind of difficult to store if they do not fit into the game box.

I would also prefer that the game is made again in Frozen Fort format. It can then be sold together in a bundle with the book.

It always looks nicer in a collection when things fit together and not everything has other formats all the time.

Therefore again my wish: I would prefer the game in the Cote Gamers Big Box and the book extra.

I would like the ability to buy the book separately.  Looks you focus on making high quality products, so I'm sure whatever you decide for the book binding/cover will be great.

I agree. Big box but allow the choice of purchasing the book separately, or bundled with the game.

Big box like Frozen Fort and then the book separate is my vote. Seems like that combination has the most traction so far. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for all answers until today! It is helpful to have your opinion before making things. So probably we will made the game with same package as Frozen Fort and the book separately. But note for future projects perhaps we will not follow your choice
