Does anybody know, which system (Videopac-Odyssey2-brazil Odyssey / MSX or CD-i ) were the biggest commercial success for Philips?

Maybe also with the systems and games that were sold under the brands: Radiola, Schneider, Siera, Brandt and Continental Edison SABA.

I found at Wikipedia that 2 million Odyssey2 units were sold, the CD-i system sold 567.000 units and that the CD-i was a commercial failure, losing Philips $1 billion.  :o

Which system were the ray of hope for Philips  ???

MSX was the biggest seller of the three systems listed here. It solder millions (there is no exact figure, but Japan sales beat the total CD-i and O2/VP sales). I never experienced this myself, as it didn't sell in the State (bummer).

O2/VP was 2nd best seller at 2+ million sold.

CD-i was under a million. I do remember this one, and how poor of a system it was (at least IMHO).

Thanks Ozyr.

I know, that the MSX system was especially in Japan a big success. But was it also a success for Philips with his MSX systems here in Europe? Did they sell also millions of these?

Don't know, but I do see it in Retro game magazines, and more often that Videopac. It has a good following still.

MSX may have sold millions but only a part of those were made by Philips.
