I was born in 1970 and I'm 36, but ask me again on Saturday and I'll be 37  :)

Happy Birthday to me  :) Yes 40 looks so much closer today!

I think I know who will own all our collections in 50 years from now  :D

So how did I celebrate so far today? TILING A BATHROOM! It's so sad being middle aged. Anyway the wifes taking me out to dinner so I think I might be on a promise tonight  ;)

Happy Birthday!  Yeah, I'll keep a sharp eye on all of your videopac goodies once your generation is long gone.  :-P

Ah Sweersa, our videopac vulture  ;). We should all make sure we got our will's in order or he comes to pick us clean...

Frankly, as long as wonderful folks like Sweersa keep the Odyssey2 alive, they can have my stuff when I'm gone. I don't have it in my will yet, but I don't plan on having my collection sold at some bloody rummage for only $5 for all I have.  What a horrible thought...

I know it is not a big deal, but I've always wondered if most of us here on the VP/O2 forum are folks that are from the height of VP/O2 fame (late 70's, early 80's), or if we have enough younger folks that came aboard the Odyssey train after it's time.

Just curious if anything else. Please be honest if you do this poll. It is just for fun, and to see roughly what age group we have here on the forum. If you want to post a personal not yourself, feel free to do so

Thanks.

P.S. I'm in the original group myself - I had this system in my teens! (thus I'm in the rough area of 39+).
well i was born March 21, 1971! 36 yrs old and my 1st videogame console was the Odyssey2 ;), when you think about it im realy am starting to get old ;:), i lived thur the 70's 80's 90's  and now the 2000's wow how depressing :'( <O3>

Hehe.  You know I would never do that.  Or would I? lol

That reminds, me, what would you want to happen to your collection(s) after you pass away?  My Odyssey 2 collection is small in comparison to many of the people here, so it wouldn't really matter much to me.  But my Star Wars collection is massive.  (I will post pictures of it someday.)  I think if I knew I was going to die I would donate my entire collection to be nicely displayed in a museum, or, I would hopefully have a son or daughter who shares my hobby to pass it down to.

Who knows...

...what would you guys do?

Seob

Don't know what i will do, since i'm not planning to die anytime soon. So i think i have a couple of decage to think about that.
8 bits of fun

Born in 1966, so I am maybe the oldest here. Got my G7000 for Christmas 1982, that was a blast! :-)

Got you beat by one year. Not sure if I'm the oldest!?

Pacdoc should be in our group too. I don't know how old he is, but I'm pretty sure he's also 39++ *g*

I wonder what the Odyssey 2/Videopac's collecting potential will be like in the several years it takes for your generation to be done.  A lot of people figure its your generation so into the O2's becuase you had, or wanted them as kids, newer generations do not really have it the same.

ccc---

True, at least two scenarios are possible:

a) the interest in those systems will fade
b) the interest will stay because the next generation understands that this was the first big video games wave and so those systems are something special

Rene_G7400

I get the impression that newer generations are not interested in old equipment in general. They are used to throw things away which are a few years old and buy new ones. (I'm sure there will be exceptions, but I think it's true for most of them.)
