I wasn't aware of a brown G7400 console, were the joysticks for this type of system entirely brown?

The G7400 console is silver and brown (bottom), but the joysticks are black.

Hmm, well I suppose its a possibility that the folks at Phillips ran out of the black plastic material and temporarily had to use the brown on that specific line of the part?  It still remains a mystery to me. lol

Could it be that the joystick was broken and repaired by Philips. Maybe Philips' replacement parts were brown ...

I have a replacement joystick at home.  I'll check it tonight.  I doubt it will solve anything but it's a shot in the dark.

Sweersa

Yeah, thats a good point on the Phillips replacement part, thanks everybody for the effort and posts.

I checked it out and it is all black, typical hardwired O2 controller.  The mystery continues...

I wish I had some fun stuff to share but all I have are common catalogs and documents that came with the systems.  The Replacement Joystick Box or the wico adapter are my rarest non-game items.  I wouldn't classify them as"fun".  The Odyssey 2 stuff rarely shows up on auction sites.  I REALLY want to find a stuffed "hatchling dragon" that was available via catalog back in the day as a promo for Quest for the Rings.  I have not even been able to find a picture of it on the web, if anyone has one and would like to post a picture please do!

Thanks must go to Ozyr for typing out all the magazines, which allowed me to find this with a search:

Don't hold back :) What seems dull to you might be exiting for someone else. Most people on the forum might have all the documents you described, but I'm sure there are also people visiting the site, that have never seen the papers.

Also, the replacement joystick boxes are not exactly common, and I don't think I've ever seen the Wico adapter.

I would like to see a picture of the Replacement Joystick Box.  That sounds pretty interesting, and I never heard of it before.

Thanks for finding it GRGH!  I knew I had seen it somewhere.  I'll take some pic's of the Joy stick replacement box and post them here when I get a chance (maybe tomorrow night?).  I'll dig some of my documents up, I think I still might have a beat up poster that shows the US games.  As a kid I would circle the games on the poster as I got them.

BuckyB, I have posted pic's of the wico adapter on this forum in the past.  I don't have the box  :(  I'll copy the link and add it below:

scroll down and you will see the pic's.
