Chris!

Hi all. I've been busy making a version of Killer Bees for the Atari 2600.
It's been rough going. I only have one Beebot and one group of enemy bees due to the limitations of the 2600.

Looks nice. Better than the other. Maybe you could try Quest For The RIngs.

Chris!

I'm not doing Quest of the Rings. I don't know how to play it and I don't want to do Atari games requiring extra pieces.
I've gone a long way, and the game is playable. Not sure how done it is, nobody will comment.
Everything is in here: a beebot, killer bees, your bees, RoSHa ray (although it is now vertical since it was easier to do it that way.) All the aspects of the game are in: Killer bees in different stages, not being able to use ray until you kill a beebot, death by touching killer bees.
I know this is an Odyssey2 forum, but I'll put the binary for version 17 here. It is an Atari 2600 game, so it will not run on Odyssey2, or any O2 emulators.

I think it looks good and plays smoothly, but my touching the bee-bot doesn't seem to hurt him. He just runs away no matter how many times I sting him. I tried it on two different emulators OpenEmu and Stella, and both behave the same way. Is there something I'm missing?

Chris!

You have to keep the bees on the beebot for a little while while he's moving around in order for it to have an effect on it.

Thank you. I'll take it for another spin.

There we go! Yikes! That little devil is hard to sting! Very challenging (at least for me). Makes you work to advance. Obviously not the exact Killer Bees experience due to the 2600  limitations, but a good companion piece with it's own flavor and tactics. Well done!

Nice work....gotta put this on my Harmony cart to try on the old VCS...
