I read some info about the 8048 and AFAIK it has maskable ROM which Magnavox/Philips used to store the basic system for the O2/Videopac right ?

If so, it is very likely impossible to simple buy a 8048 and use it in a O2/Videopac right ?

Or are there ways to program the ROM area ?

Tray and find a 8748, that is the EPROM version of the 8048, alas you will also need to find a programmer for it... I have an old Digelec programmer which can handle the 8748.

You can also find a 8035 but it needs an external ROM and I am not sure if you can implement that in the Videopac/Odyssey 2

I donít really need to replace my 8048 as it works fine but I saw a Philips branded 8048 for just some euros for sale on eBay and thought it would look cool to have that inside the Videopac.......yeah Iím ambit crazy 😁
