I just went to the Brazilian website. Great stuff! Unfortunately, when I put a mug in my shopping cart and checked for shipping price, it said no delivery options to my address in the USA. So I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to ship a game to me either...

I am already talking to administrators to resolve these issues.

I'm confused. If I order from Rafael out of Brasil, can I get an English version?

Hi Daddy. The brazilian version will  be in portuguese, however, just like "Floresta Assombrada" it will have "The English Guide"
http://experienciaodyssey.com.br/florestaassombrada/
It is still part of the project to have the website and games in English, but there is still a lot of work and little time.

Doug

Will the Videopac version have English instructions for the Brits?

Rafael

To get an idea, the "English manual" appears at the mark of 3.30, in our friend Márcio's unboxing:

I come from Germany. So for me is a Videopac release from Marc, like to get a game in the eighties from Philips.  8)
I don`t want to miss my Videopac style. So I am really happy.

But I have the feeling here, that our Odyssey2 fans don`t understand why Marc could not release (like he did for years in the past with an always wonderful release) a game in Odyssey2 style.
And to be honest, I also don`t understand that. We have really not much fans out there and now there is only confusion. And this could not be good.

To make this clear. Marc`s Videopac releases have always an english manual !

Doug

If they both have English manuals, which one best leverages the O2's futuristic, military grade technology in terms of color use?

Though I'm thinking of ordering Rafael's, just because it would be cool to have a Brazilian homebrew release in my collection... Plus I can order a mug with it.

A few things need to be cleared up. The Odyssey Brasil group and the Experiencia Odyssey website are not my projects. I started some projects like jogs and Odyssey Aventura magazine that were my dreams. Of course I've always wanted to release games in Brazil (and in all countries - if it was an easy question). Like me, other people dream of new games, magazines etc being released and above all with Philips quality. The entire project to make this dream possible was the commitment of other people, specifically Victor, Leo, Ricardo and Márcio. The whole project was done by them, you know, new cartridges were designed, new boards were designed, there's an artist contract to make each cover. This entire project has a cost and for the project to continue, although it is a great passion for everyone, it has to cover its costs, or the dream ends. For example, we are awaiting sales of upcoming releases to raise funds for the arts of Merlin and  Monkey Jump. Understand that when we talk about dreams, we are talking about a beautiful collection, something that can be put alongside classic games and have the same feeling. Soon, you will be able to see the cover of TrenchRunner, this one amazing. Even the cover of Death Race will be redone. And soon, a beautiful poster with the game collection. That said, we're still doing a general review of game reception and the best way to keep the project alive while making the games easier for everyone to access.

I will not release Odyssey2 homebrew by Rafael anymore.  8)

Woah...this is disappointing to say the least! I love supporting the homebrew community and as an Odyssey2 owner, I prefer that style. Correct me if I'm wrong, and perhaps Rafael can chime in on this, but if the only way to get Odyssey2 style homebrews moving forward is to go through Brazil, I'm guessing it will be in Brazilian style with no "2" in Odyssey and most of the box and contents will be in Portuguese, with just an insert for English instructions (as that appears to be the case at the 3:30 mark of the video Rafael posted), instead of the full, multi-page manual in English? I wish I could read and speak multiple languages, but alas, I cannot. More details on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

100% this. I see where Rafael responded after your post but I didn't really understand his post...any additional details or explanation that could be provided would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

I'll summarize: The entire graphic design, art direction is the work of Odyssey Brasil.
The project includes, in most cases, the re-release of games that have already been released in Europe.
There won't be many other titles going forward. Nothing has changed, other titles have already been released by others,
such as CCC, Packrat, Tim Duarte, Atari Compendium, Coté Gamers recently, all deserve the chance to release games...
I actually think this is good for VIdeopac. A lot of people have found out that new games are being released through other distributors.
