Odyssey2 was missing a find-the-path type game, so I decided to create one--with a twist.  Does anyone else like these types of games?

Attached is a 12-level demo version (V1), complete with a tutorial, three different skill levels, and SAVE CODEs you can use to restore your progress if you reset or turn the system off.

Instructions:
1) With either joystick, move left-right to select a skill level or move all the way to the right to enter a SAVE CODE
PRACTICE: Play the levels without being hunted.  Use the Action Button to restart the level.
NOVICE: Unlimited time freezes with the Action Button.
MEDIUM: Only one time freeze (Action Button) per level.
CODE: Use the keyboard to type SAVE CODE to restore your progress in the game.
2) Use the Action Button (either joystick) to start the game.  The rest of the game will be controlled by the joystick you started the game with.
3) Fill in the entire level by walking up/down/left/right, but don't trap yourself by blocking off an area you need to get to.
4) (Novice/Medium) Avoid getting hit by moving quickly and by using the Action button to freeze time.
5) Any keyboard press will pause the game.  From the pause screen, you'll see the Current Level, the SAVE CODE, and options to SKIP a level or replay any skipped levels. All other keys (except RESET, of course!) return you to the game.
6) You will be forced to finish any skipped levels before you can finish the game.
7) Enjoy!

The real game is a 200-level quest for hours and hours of gameplay.  (You'll really need the SAVE CODEs for the full game!)

Very nice! When and how will the full game be available?

That's a good question. I'm not sure how this process works from here, but I'm very close to complete.  I'm putting the final touches in the game. I went kinda overboard: I've created 8 characters/skill levels, a whole backstory, some of the cover art, etc, but I cut most of that out for the demo to see if there is any interest in the game.

I tested on my Odyssey2, but I need to test on a Videopac somehow, especially since the level start/complete animation is dependent on the machine-specific timing.

Well, I am definitely interested. Unfortunately, I have a O2, so I can't help with the Videopac testing, but I will be watching your progress closely, and waiting for a full release in whatever form it takes. Best of luck!

Thank you, I really appreciate it.

Nice game. I tested it and compared it between my O2 and a G7400 (same clock speed as a G7000). It worked fine. There was a slight speed difference between the two as expected, but still definitely playable.
Here's a screenshot of a comparison of the screen animation. The top/bottom borders are different, but they don't interfere with the game area.

Nice game.
Thanks so much! It's no Puzzle Piece Panic!, but for my first attempt at assembly programming, I'm glad I survived the experience was able to complete it.  If only I could add your music...

Oh good, the ROM detecting PAL/NTSC correctly! It blows up in 'O2em -euro', but works in MAME. In my testing, broken in O2em usually meant broken on the real O2 hardware as well, but this time it looks like it's reversed.  Thank you for testing it and posting the results. And thanks for playing the game/demo!
