Wow!  I never thought this would be possible for this platform without the use of an add-on module such as the Videopac C 7010 chess module!   

I would very much like to publish this game on cartridge for you in the North America region. Perhaps Marc V. may want to publish in Europe.

Timdu, There was a semi-popular version of chess for the zx81 that fit in 1k, but it was fairly easy to beat. It seemed like that version could be used to make a non-chess-module port for the O2/VP. I had planned on trying it, but it looks like I don't have to now!.
As far as I understand, the CPU isn't the issue with creating a chess program - it's the RAM.

I have the CHESS cartridge (by Parker Brothers) for the Atari 400 / 800 / XL / XE and it comes with a very nice manual that explains how to play the game of chess. It is available in PDF format at:

Well I heard from the programmer bataais and I will need to wait until all the 30 videopac releases from Marc V / VideopacBelgium are sold out. In the mean time, would any one be willing to try to program and code CHECKERS? That may be fun on this platform?  Or MAH-JOHNG?
