Radiola Rarity

ANDYRYALS

On the old Videopac.Org site there was a massive debate about Radiola rarity. I managed to get information from 11 collectors regarding there Radiola collection and I correlated all the information together and started to make a rarity guide something a little more accurate than Maurice's. I have just about finished this and when I get time in the week I will post a fresh guide on the site!  ;)
I have 12"

Seob

Here is everything i could find in google cache. Page 2 seems to be lost.

radiola rarity
most of my radiola info is relative to their place on philips rariy...which is wrong I know, but you need to start with a benchmark
I often see the same radiolas over and over again 11 being one of them and since its not such a great game, I puzzle wether it was given free with the jet25 ofr something at some point.

anyway, shall we see between us what common and whats not...definitively oin the radiola world.

if you can list your ownership of each radiola from this list maybe we can set a better bencmark.
and add any comments you like
but if none of us have seen it even for sale..thats got to be something special.

so hopefully the list should look like 4,y,n,y,y,n as each person adds their mark and their own comments, remove the person above comments for your post please.

My Radiola 37, 38 and 40 all have RADIOLA cartridges. I think you've been sent a mixed box...

Ok here is the difference in those 18s marked with red circles, minor I know but I am anal

You'll also note that the yellow UFO has a reference number on one and not the other. Forgot my little circle for that one. I have two 16s the same as this.

Just working on those scans...

And NO I do not have any cardboard RADS.

Just updated my VP list and realised that of the possibe 51 Radiola games which are listed in Maurice's list 8 don't exist, that is if we think the data that we have is accurate, mainly that 13 and 17 dont exists. This means that there are only 43 Radiola games to collect instead of 51. My Radiola collection is suddenly 8% more complete than it was 10 minutes ago with this revelation!!

andy could you update your lists here with your latests aquisitions.

ive been compiling a database for frequesncy of appearance. to help get a more accurate rarity guide.

this is th F' rating on some of the games (early numbers in the games section) it means how many weeks per year you will find that item on an online auction site so F52 means pretty much every week one will appear F2 means twice a year etc F0 = unique

seemed to me to be a quantifiable rating that we could all understand. rather than say numbers 1-5 or something else.#

You have Radiola 17 listed as "Not available" but it seems to exist.
(I don't have it, but I don't have that many Radiola games)

I'm working on the theory across the board for '17' that's its missing until proven otherwise

I agree that information given to collectors should be 100% correct -and corrected if proven wrong- but I know a couple collectors, respected people in the community, that claim to have a Radiola 17. At least Bas Kornalijnslijper and Arnoud claim they own(ed) a Radiola 17. I think you should give them a little credit...

Have you been reading any of the discussions regarding videopac 17? or the rest of this thread on Radiolas?

I deliberately listed the N/A items as I believe we have not proved/disproved either way at this time. Plenty of people believe in god, buts that's another topic for another day...

Nobody has come forward in these discussions and said they owned one. The people you have mentioned (who are members here I believe) have not confirmed they owned one, I'll give 'a little' credit to those that want to participate.

I would love to hear if anyone has one or has seen one, that would resolve the debate.

P.S. I'm not comparing Radiolas to god.

Yes, I have been reading the discussions regarding the Philips cardboard 17, which is a completely different thing.
Other than that, I don't seem to understand why information seems only to be valid when it comes from people who are active in this forum. Not all collectors feel like being 'out in the open' and hang around in forums.

'Nuff said...

Yes I can understand that being 'out in the open' about owning a Radiola 17 could open you up to being taken out by a hitman.

There was also discussion about the cover art having been done, and it appearing on posters. Please can someone say they have had one or seen one? I would love to put this one to bed.

Ah, my 400th post

Maurice, I completely agree with you about supplying 100% accurate information, and I agree that listing 17 as N/A might make it look like we have decided this does not exist, and in turn that may get written into history, so I've updated my entry to say 'N' while we continue the debate

of course credit will be given to anyone who comes forward and says that they either have it or have had it.

but until now no-one has here yet, of course we cannot be aware maurice of any previous contact you have had for your list.

Cheers mate.

Actually I got two big sets last month which really really helped, I've been a bit busy but I should finally have a day tomorrow to check them all in and see what spares I have now.

A Radiola 17 was present in this recent ebay auction, so I think that definitely confirms it exists

Since BuckyB posting this, Bas has provided a cover scan and Arnoud has sold his copy, would it not be easier to contact other respected collectors and ask them to confirm what they have instead of speculating as to what does and doesn't exist? I'm sure if Bas admits to having the Spiderman prototype in his collection that he wouldn't at all be scared to own up to having Radiola 17!!!

I'm sure that the majority of collectors wouldn't mind confirming what they have and haven't got, I certainly wouldn't have a problem with it.

I may be in line for a Radiola 17 and George also has one pending. I think it's high time that we get the Radiola rarity guide updated on the basis of the information supplied by the forums members collections. I will do this hopefully at the end of this week. Does anyone have any more information regarding there collection, all information greatly appreciated!!

Perfect stranger,

Can you update the list like George has?? I want to produce an updated Radiola rarity guide but it will be based on the collectors in this forum considering we seem to be bonkers to collect for it!
