Unfortunately Richard has moved house from the phone number I got, and they have no new address for him  Sad As far as they know, he is OK.

Dieter, I guess that means your snail mail wont get any answer either as I worked out the number from the whois.

Has anybody ever met Richard in real life? And if yes...   is this thim? :http://www.ukscreen.com/cast/lurpak
If anyone can aknowledge that it is him, maybe we can contact him through here.

Never met him, but that is him (at least I'm 90% sure it is). He goes my Lurpak on the DP board.

Note: He has not posted on DP since July 16 of this year.

i have his new address

its from me sending him the stuff and him ripping me off
i still have the post office receipt with it on

Wow. I never pictured Richard being the kind of person to rip anyone off. He was so good with stuff from the videopac.org webite.

Personally, I wouldn't jump to conclusions... but this is rather odd. Maybe he just decided to call it quits!?

Only thing that really irritates me is that there was SO MUCH info on the old videopac forum. If no one can contact or get the data, it is history...

Mr Lister, did that address start 141a?

I noticed a Ltd company name at the bottom of the google cached page, from that I found a website with the registered address and a phone number for the registered company...

I cant see why everyone is so worried about loosing information from the old videopac.org site we can always scan photos and manuals etc and get them on a site somewhere, the vast majority of the "big" videopac collectors have found this place and I'm sure will contribute if Videopac means so much to them

If you can get it up - do you have 'admin' access? That way you could backup the database, and I'm sure there would be someway to transfer the stuff to here - one way or another.

Getting things back will be a lot of work.
I allready have put somethings back online.
You first need the list that rene posted here.
http://home.hetnet.nl/~mdr.vd.enden/download/forum_cache.html
Then you take the Topic name put it between these markers " " and search google for it.
Then look in the cache of google and you'll find everything you want.

Dear Customer,

I am afraid we can not accept this payment from you as this is not your account and this account has not been suspended due to an outstanding invoice.

I suggest you cancel the payment so you can get it back.

Also as you are not the account holder we can not look into any further correspondence on this matter from yourself.

Regards,

Idiots! I didn't ask for a passwort or something else, I just paid for another year hosting. But now I know at least that payment is not the problem. Probably the php installation needs to be updated or sumsuch.

Yes, I have administrator rights for the old forum. Anyway, I need Richard now because they won't communicate with me anymore. I have his new address so I will send him a letter to the new address. On the other hand - noone seems to be interested to get the old forum back ...  Huh?

That ANDYRYALS isn't interested in getting the old forum back doesn't mean that NOBODY is interested in getting it back! I want it back!

It's not that I dont want the old forum back, I do! But, I'm a realist we should make do with what we have now and try and make this forum BETTER!

I want the old Forum back too, but I wonder how this has happened. I can't speculate enough...  I hope your letter reaches him.

As for the site, since it 'is' suspended, it would be nice to know why? If it is not due to the account money being due, they it has to be for some other reason - hacked!? Sure would be nice to know.

Oh well, I'll wait and hope we get some type of answer out of Richard. For now, we are here. If the old Forum comes back, great! If not, they so be it. I don't mind it here (even though there are bits of this forum software that drive me nuts - IMHO).
