On April 20th 2008 there will be another retro game event in the Netherlands (Apeldoorn). I will be showing some Videopac stuff there, it would be nice if some other Videopac collectors would come there too.

Are events like these more for selling and buying related items, or just a show to see and share them?

Mostly for buying and selling, but there are also several people (like me) who only show rare items.

These events are also about meeting people who you chat to on forums like these and buying them a beer (or 7)!

That sounds like a lot of fun!  I bet you get a lot of people visiting your booth or table.  We have Antique Toy Shows around where I live and thats where I get almost all of my discontinued or vintage Star Wars items.  It looks very similar to the pictures I see of the Videopac events only with different items on display to sell.  In the US I don't think any places really hold an event for Odyssey2/Videopac consoles, in fact, I have never seen an Odyssey 2 or cart at a toy show or flea market unfortunately.  I have to do just about all of my buying online, which isn't so bad.

In the Power Unlimited (a dutch game magazine) they have posted a 1 page artikel about the people that are organizing the event. They are like Rene said also the owners of the Bonami game museum. They got this item in the magazine because they provided some arcademachines to a dutch game event that the game magazine holds every year.

Would you believe it, I just got told I have to be in Amsterdam from Monday until 10th April! That would have been perfect is only it was 10 days later!!
