I haven't been able to find any info on the retro event on that website.
If you want to see Ralph Baer you have to pay 495 Euro!

It would be fun to meet him, get a photo, autograph, etc.  I don't even know how much that is in US dollars!

Wow, that is a bit pricey to say the least.  I can't believe how much the euro is kicking the USD's arse right now. lol

Ren? and I are going to be present at the Retro game event on saturday - 21st of June 2008, Utrecht.  ;D 8)
We will have our own tables to show off our stuff.
As this fair will be more of a presentation then a selling happening Ren? and I have come up with the following idea's:

Memory and nostalgia... we are aiming for people to come and visit our tables to recognize Videopac from the dark courners of their youth's memory. You know, "the ooowh yeeeaaah!!! I remember that!!!" moment that some of us may have had just before deciding to start collecting Vpac/O2.

We will have about four consoles on display:

- Rene's G7400 with build in Voice-module and his amazing game-collection-module.
- A schneider G7200
- G7000 to display new releases, finished or not yet finished.
- G7400 to display ... Quest for the Rings (we are thinking of displaying Rapha?ls plus version). We also are going to play the game by the rules. We are doing this hoping this rare type of game will draw attention and generate more interest for Videopac but also because we both never played it as it should and we are very curious and wanna play  ;D.

I am not sure if Ren? is gonna bring his O3 but as we target at the european market I think he might leave it at his home this time. (Ren? correct me if I am wrong). George and others, we are going to leave my mother-in-law at Ren?'s place chained to his O3 so don't even bother going there while we are at the fair >:D

To make the place a bit more attractive we try to dress it up with some games and posters.

Also will I create some flyers to promote our forum  hoping to get a few new members 8).

I hope some of you guys can make it overthere. If you have any suggestions let us know.

Ren?, please correct me if something in this message is wrong or I left something out...

I will leave the O3's at home, as almost no visitors of these events realize what it is.

I will show a Basic module at this event, and my 16-prototype-games multicart.

Sure, here's a photo:
http://www.ozyr.com/rene/PICS/cart_display.jpg (the cart in the G7400)
http://www.ozyr.com/rene/PICS/hardware-carts.jpg (the second cart from the left)

It is based on a design I've found in a bunch of Philips Videopac documentation. I've seen a scan of the schematic somewhere on the internet too, I think it was mentioned on the old forum. (Where's the back-up!  ;D )

It contains a 128k Eprom, so 16  8k games can be stored. It has two buttons to select a game (up/down) and the game number is displayed at the hexadecimal display (0-9 and A-F). I've replaced the SELECT GAME screen of the first game by a list of the games with the corresponding numbers, so you can see what's on the cart.

manopac

mind telling us what all the other carts in the second picture are able to do ? (I recognize the rightmost one ... but all the rest ? the second from the right looks like the test-cart I have ...)
sex, lies, and videopac
